Implementation
Once a decision is made to purchase the Agvance software, SSI will immediately assign an Implementation Specialist to your account. This seasoned professional will work closely with your key personnel to develop a timeline of tasks to meet your business objectives. The successful implementation of Agvance depends on a coordinated partnership between SSI and the client's staff. It will include the following steps:

- Assessing Goals and Target Date
The Implementation Specialist will assemble a team of SSI support specialists to help during this important interview process. The team will conference with your key personnel to review specific requirements and expectations. A detailed timeline will be established outlining the tasks required to meet the goals. This document will serve as the guide to the team and will be updated and referenced throughout the implementation process.
- Data Preparation
Establishing the master data files (customers, vendors, G/L accounts, inventory products, commodities, etc.) is an important step on any implementation timeline. SSI staff will guide you through either of the following options:
- Manual entry - any of the master files can be entered manually.
- Converted from current system – the feasibility of this method varies but in many cases, SSI can import data automatically from the system currently in place. This saves many hours of your staff’s time. This data conversion work is billable at $100/hr.
- End-User Training
Agvance is a flexible, sophisticated package that can help manage many areas of your operation. Our seasoned trainers have years of experience in the agribusiness industry and will use various training methods to familiarize your staff with Agvance ‘best practices’. The Implementation Specialist will work with the client’s key personnel to map out a training strategy to meet your goals. Training is billed at $100/hr.
- Remote Training: with your management’s permission, SSI can connect and do some level of training remotely utilizing Internet tools.
- On-Site Training: there are undeniable advantages to on-site, face-to-face training. These visits allow for more in-depth, personalized coverage of the system. There is an additional fee of $1000/day charged to cover all travel expenses involved with bringing a trainer to your facility.
- Go Live
Oversight of the transition from data preparation to entering live business transactions is key to the success of the implementation. Most often this involves an on-site visit which combines assistance with prove out of the beginning balances and staff training.
- Monitor first Month End
Your Implementation Specialist will cover the Agvance Month end process carefully and in great detail. As the first month of data entry comes to a close, the prove-out is an important step to verify that transaction ‘best practices’ were used. Your staff’s key implementation contact will determine if SSI staff should be on-site for this step or can monitor the month end results remotely.
