Benefits of a Software Subscription

The software industry has seen a shift in the way companies purchase software. A recent Forbes article, What to Expect From Rapidly Growing (And Evolving) Software As a Service Market in 2021 describes Software as a Service (SaaS) as permanently reshaping the way companies use technology. According to the article, “by providing a centralized platform that connects users across a company to a suite of services on the cloud, companies can get applications running with minimal time wasted on burdensome startup and maintenance processes.”

At SSI, Software as a Service (SaaS) took off with the release of Agvance SKY. Agvance SKY represents the newest platform for SSI software and includes a combination of web and mobile native apps. SKY applications feature a modern, intuitive user experience residing in the cloud. SSI partners with cloud service provider, Amazon Web Services. The Software as a Service (SaaS) subscription is an all-in-one fee including the licenses, hosting, backups, updates, and technical support.

Software in the cloud on a subscription service has many advantages. Expensive server equipment no longer needs to be purchased or maintained. Agvance SKY runs on any device that can run a web browser, such as workstations, mobile phones, tablets, and printers. Programs and data are hosted on a private, secure server which is maintained, backed up multiple times per hour and updated by SSI staff.

Currently, over 60% of Agvance users and over half of all customer companies have moved to the subscription plan. Many larger companies were the first to take advantage of SaaS pricing and being hosted in the cloud. Today, many small and mid-size companies have also added SKY and SaaS pricing, are considering the move, or in-process.
